Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Gunther being harmed by the current booking. The star is in a feud with Damian Priest.

Over the last few weeks, Damian Priest has the Imperium leader doubting his abilities with his mind games. This past week on RAW, the World Heavyweight Champion tried to mount a surprise attack on Priest backstage, but it backfired completely. The challenger got the better of him and laid him out.

This week on Smack Talk, Mantell recalled how Priest laid out the champ. He pointed out that Damian showed utter domination during the segment, which made his future opponent look weak. The veteran felt it was a terrible idea and took a lot of shine away from the Ring General.

"Is that when Gunther was laid out? [...] That was bullsh*t." Mantell continued, "Didn't Damian Priest pull up a chair and talk to him or something? That's what I saw. But I said, 'who in the hell came up with this?' I didn't like that at all," the veteran said. [From 12:02 onwards]

With the Survivor Series just eight days away, Triple H and his team need to figure out a strategy quickly if they want Gunther to walk out of the premium live event and look strong as the World Heavyweight Champion.
