Hulk Hogan was mercilessly booed at WWE RAW on Netflix's premiere. The Hall of Famer appeared on the show to cut a promo only for the fans to give him a negative reaction. The reception shocked The Hulkster himself.

Speaking on a recent episode of BroDown on Backstage Pass, Vince Russo gave his two cents on the viral fan reaction to Hulk Hogan. The WWE writer offered a conspiracy theory:

"Here's where my conspiracy theory kicks in. Was it the Netflix executives that wanted Hogan there? So what did they do? They set him up, man. The wrestling people set him up, told him to put the beer over because they knew. Well bro, either they knew or they're completely clueless." [From 05:25 onwards]

Elsewhere on the podcast, Russo said he couldn't understand why the crowd in Los Angeles booed Jimmy Hart. For those unaware, Hart popped up alongside Hulk Hogan before the pair got booed out to the backstage:

"What was more devastating to me was bro, you're booing Jimmy Hart. Oh my God, Jimmy Hart is the closest thing to a Saint that I know. And poor Jimmy Hart had to be out there, man. And they're booing him out of the building. I felt bad for Hulk, but I really felt bad for Jimmy Hart." [From 06:55 onwards]

Former WWE manager Jim Cornette was stunned by fan backlash to Hogan's appearance as well. It remains to be seen if the former multi-time World Champion will appear on WWE television ever again.
