A wrestling veteran has slammed WWE's booking ahead of Survivor Series: WarGames. The premium live event goes down on November 30, Saturday, at Vancouver's Rogers Center in British Columbia, Canada. It'll feature five matches, including the Men and Women's WarGames bouts.
While reviewing the latest SmackDown on BroDown on Backstage Pass, Vince Russo questioned WWE's logic behind booking WarGames matches, noting the modern incarnations of the historic match-up were firmly lacking in 'stakes.'
"We opened the show (SmackDown) with the Women's WarGame teams and we end with the Men's WarGame teams. I think this is my biggest problem. Mac, for both of these matches, there's no stakes. Like why do I care if Reigns' team wins? So what!" [04:56 onwards]
Russo elaborated on his comment by saying WWE should at least introduce some sort of stipulation in the WarGames matches to get the fans invested in these storylines.
"If (Solo) Sikoa's team wins, there's no stakes. I mean, at least give me... Whatever team loses, that Bloodline's gotta break up. I mean, at least give me something. I'm trying to understand, what does it matter if either the babyfaces or the heels win? Mac, am I crazy?" [05:19 onwards]
The WarGames match in question will see the OG Bloodline and CM Punk take on Solo Sikoa's crew. In addition to the Men's WarGames match, the women will compete in WarGames.
