On WWE SmackDown, CM Punk returned and joined forces with the OG Bloodline. Shortly afterward, Carmelo Hayes took to Twitter/X to reveal the advice he received from The Second City Saint.

At the Bad Blood premium live event, Punk defeated his arch-rival Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell Match. This marked the culmination of their rivalry as Punk won two of three matches between them. The former WWE Champion had been absent since his victory over the Scotsman.

On Twitter/X, Hayes revealed that Punk advised him not to engage in backstage fights. This could be a reference to Punk's controversial AEW Brawl Out incident.

"Ran into Cm Punk. Just gave me the best advice to never lose a backstage fight again #SmackDown," wrote Hayes.

It should be noted that Hayes got into a backstage fight with Cody Rhodes this week. The duo will face off next Friday.

Vince Russo believes CM Punk joining forces with the OG Bloodline made no sense

Vince Russo discussed CM Punk joining forces with the OG Bloodline on this week's edition of WWE SmackDown.

Speaking on BroDown, Russo claimed Punk joining the OG Bloodline team for WarGames was done for the "pop" from the WWE Universe.

"I guarantee you that Triple H read my tweet. So, what do they do? At the last minute, oh it's CM Punk, which makes absolutely no sense. There's no story. But not only that, here's why I know they were going with Seth Rollins. This was done just for a pop. It makes no sense in the storyline, whatsoever. This company works on pops," Russo claimed.

The OG Bloodline had approached Rey Mysterio, Bron Breakker, and Seth Rollins. However, they rejected teaming up with Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Sami Zayn. This week on SmackDown, The OTC again turned down the idea of teaming up with his former Shield stablemate.

On SmackDown, the returning Paul Heyman introduced Punk as the fifth member of the OG Bloodline. The latter is a former "Paul Heyman Guy" and worked closely with the Hall of Famer.
