Vince McMahon was simultaneously one of the most respected and feared names in WWE for years. However, he wasn't as responsible for things as many think, according to wrestling veteran Hugo Savinovich.
One of the more controversial aspects of WWE administration during Vince McMahon's era was how he handled the roster. Sometimes, there were mass releases, which were attributed to budget cuts, among other reasons. Furthermore, it was alleged that stars who were not in McMahon's good graces were given significantly fewer opportunities.
Hugo apparently learnt from McMahon himself how the system was being manipulated by some, leading to their exit from the company. On Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted, the veteran said:
"Vince [McMahon] showed me a lesson once. He said to me, 'People think that because I own this place, I am in total control.' And trust me, there was a lot of people getting fired because they manipulate the system." [10:19 onwards]

The Stamford-based promotion will be organizing another Saturday Night's Main Event before the Royal Rumble this year. Hugo Savinovich has now shared his thoughts on the upcoming show.
On the same episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted, the wrestling veteran said the following about how the company could book the upcoming Texas event:
"I believe that you will have to go with two attractions from RAW, two attractions from SmackDown, and the infomercial about what you are selling, your big event, coming up on pay-per-view or special live event, whatever you call it (...) The way everything goes right now, you don't have much time to sell that long. So you have to be precise." [1:24 onwards]
It remains to be seen how the WWE show pans out. Many prominent names will likely feature on the program before Royal Rumble 2025.
