WWE's flagship show Monday Night RAW is moving to Netflix on January 6, 2025. The company recently signed a huge deal with the streaming giant to broadcast RAW on their platform.
With the move, several fans and experts speculated that RAW would switch to putting out more edgier content as they did in the Attitude Era. However, WWE President Nick Khan clarified that the company would continue to put out family-friendly content for its huge global audience.
This week on the Wrestling Time Machine, Hall of Fame journalist and Sportskeeda Senior Editor Bill Apter discussed Khan's stance on the issue. He pointed out that WWE was answerable to its stockholders and putting on bold content would raise some eyebrows. The veteran journalist felt WWE would stick with the formula that has been working for them all these years:
"Everybody thought it was gonna be like Attitude Era. But remember, there are shareholders, there are stockholders in that company. These people want it to remain family-friendly entertainment. They call it family friendly but it's bordering a lot of times not family friendly and they get away with it little by little. No, they gotta keep the success they have right now because the parents want to let their kids watch it." [From 00:39 to 01:10]
