WWE officially announces that a former AEW star is set to make her 'return.' This star wrestled for AEW for a short time.

Kylie Rae is one of the most well-known female stars on the independent scene. She previously signed with AEW in 2019. However, her run for the promotion didn't last long, as she requested Tony Khan to release her that same year.

Following her release, Kylie Rae tried out for the WWE and even debuted on December 12, 2022, taping Main Event, where she faced Dana Brooke. While many fans believed that the Stamford-based promotion had signed the rising star, it was reported that she was still a free agent. It looks like the Stamford-based promotion is now making up for that missed opportunity.

World Wrestling Entertainment recently announced its ID program to provide independent wrestling schools and wrestlers with an easier pathway to the company. Over the last few weeks, several wrestlers have been given the ID designation. The company has now officially announced that Kylie Rae has also been ID'd by the promotion.

Kylie Rae once opened up about her WWE tryout

Kylie Rae has been turning heads with her performances on the Indie scene. She has wrestled for several major promotions and has been touted as a future star. Hence, WWE offered her a tryout a few years ago. While it looked like she would sign with the Stamford-based promotion, that wasn't the case.

During an interview with the Going Broadway podcast, Kylie Rae opened up on her tryouts with the Stamford-based promotion. She noted that everyone seemed happy with her after her match and the environment felt positive. She also mentioned that she had a good experience.

"From what it felt like, I can't speak on their behalf because I don't know, but from what it felt like, after the match, they were, maybe I'm naive, but they seemed very happy with it. It feels good being there. The environment, it feels very positive and genuine and people are happy. Maybe I'm naive. I'm not signed, I'm not contracted, I don't have to be there every week. I don't know anybody else's experience, but from my experience, it's been wonderful. I loved it there. The fact that I keep getting contacted to do extra work is probably a good sign."

Now, it looks like fans will finally get to see Kylie Rae perform for the Stamford-based promotion soon.
