Big E suffered a career-threatening injury during a botched belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland during the March 11, 2022, episode of SmackDown. A WWE legend believes that Holland seems to have recovered from the trauma he faced after the 38-year-old star's injury.
The former WWE Champion suffered an injury that has kept him out of competition to date. The New Day member may never compete in the ring again. However, no one can be blamed for his unfortunate injury.
While speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, Mark Henry noted that it looks like Ridge Holland has recovered from the backlash he faced after the botched move. The World's Strongest Man compared it to the D'Lo Brown-Darren Drozdov incident.
"He's eaten it up...The injury that Big E sustained and pointing to the fact that he injured somebody, I lived through that. For a while there it looked like [Holland] was mailing it in. 'Maybe this ain't for me,' and then you see the maturation process, the whole Chase U thing, it was like he got to look at himself again for the first time and he realized how you fix things," Mark Henry said.
Ridge Holland is progressing well in NXT and is set to face Trick Williams for the NXT Championship at Deadline 2024. He could win his first major singles title in the Stamford-based company after having a short run with the NXT Tag Team Championship with Andre Chase.
Big E has been out of in-ring action since March 11, 2022. He suffered an injury that could have paralyzed him, but thankfully he recovered enough.
The upcoming episode of RAW will see the 10th-anniversary celebration of The New Day. Tensions are rising between Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, and a recent report states that Big E could return to reunite with his teammates in the celebration.
Fans will be ready for a potential heartbreak in case Woods turns against Kingston during the show and finally causes The New Day to split up. With the former WWE Champion out of action, it would make sense to see Kofi and Xavier become singles competitors again.
