Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Cody Rhodes' appearance on SmackDown. The American Nightmare confronted Kevin Owens this week.

Cody won the championship match against KO at Saturday Night's Main Event. However, Owens attacked him after the match and planted him with a vicious Piledriver on a steel chair. This move did considerable damage to his neck, and the champ had to be stretchered away from the arena.

During this week's Smack Talk podcast, Mantell questioned why Cody Rhodes wasn't wearing a brace despite the damage to his neck. The wrestling veteran felt it would have been better if Cody sold the injury more. He also stated that when the champ made his way to the ring, he should have attacked Owens first.

"Here comes Cody. I thought Cody's neck was almost broken. He didn't have a brace on or anything. So he just walked up there. Then got in the ring and they had their words back and forth. If he was able to wrestle why didn't he just go ahead and attack Owens?" [From 50:15 onwards]

Kevin Owens used this week's confrontation to attack Cody Rhodes again and target his injured neck.

The two stars will now face off against each other at the Royal Rumble in a huge ladder match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
