Jey Uso is currently one of the top and most popular WWE Superstars on Monday Night RAW. WWE analyst Sam Roberts recently said the Stamford-based company is seemingly planning a similar push for a 39-year-old star on SmackDown.
After splitting from The Bloodline, Jey moved to RAW, where he kicked off his career as a singles competitor. Last September, Main Event won his first singles title, the Intercontinental Championship, after beating Bron Breakker. He held it for 27 days before dropping it to Breakker. Meanwhile, Jimmy Uso was taken out by Solo Sikoa after WrestleMania 40. He returned at Bad Blood to help Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes beat The Bloodline. He has since reunited with the OG Bloodline amid an ongoing Bloodline civil war.
While Jey continues to thrive as a singles competitor on the red brand, Sam Roberts claimed on his Notsam Wrestling podcast that the company is seemingly positioning Jimmy to have a similar singles run on SmackDown:
"The rise of Jimmy Uso is very very interesting. It feels like they're positioning Jimmy Uso on SmackDown to be almost what Jey Uso has become on Monday Night RAW. It's going to take time as it did with Jey Uso but, I mean, if we get two massive solo stars out of The Usos tag team, it'll be something, man," Roberts said. [54:09 - 54:30]
On his Off The Top podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi discussed his son Jimmy Uso's current position in the Stamford-based company. He offered him a piece of advice.
The 59-year-old claimed Jimmy's work was not done, urging him to continue to lead and take care of himself:
"My advice to him is to continue to lead, continue to take care of himself, and stay healthy. I see my son, and their bodies are starting to - it's a little slower getting up, it comes with the business. But they're still in good spirits. He's still in good spirits, happy to be able to embrace this time with the new family members that are up underneath this tree. His work is still not done," Rikishi said.
It will be interesting to see whether Jimmy Uso becomes as big of a singles star as his twin brother in the coming months.
