WWE star CM Punk will be the fifth member of Roman Reigns' original Bloodline faction at Survivor Series WarGames. Former WWE head writer Vince Russo didn't approve of this move and felt the whole angle hurt Seth Rollins.
This past Monday on RAW, Bronson Reed defeated Rollins with the help of Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline. This week on SmackDown, Paul Heyman returned with CM Punk as the fifth member of Team Roman at Survivor Series.
During a recent episode of BroDown, Russo mentioned that adding Punk to the equation hurt Rollins. He pointed out that Seth got brutally assaulted by The Bloodline and didn't get the chance to get even with them at Survivor Series. The veteran writer felt WWE buried one of their top babyfaces with this decision.
"Now with Punk being the fifth guy, what did they do? They buried Rollins. They one hundred percent buried their babyface. Bronson joined The Bloodline; they wind up screwing Rollins, and Rollins ain't gonna be in the match. So they one thousand percent screwed their babyface. It was so obvious. So now they pull CM Punk out of their backside to get the pop, but it makes zero sense storyline-wise." [From 3:48 onwards]
With CM Punk as the fifth member of the group, the original Bloodline has significant star power heading into the premium live event.
It will be interesting to see if Punk and Roman will be able to work together to get the win at WarGames.
