Recent events in WWE have indicated the return of a former champion. Veteran journalist Bill Apter has claimed that the star could enter the scene less subtly than one would think.

The star being referenced here is Big E. The former WWE Champion hasn't wrestled for almost 1000 days at this point. The New Day member last teamed up with Kofi Kingston to face Sheamus and Ridge Holland in a tag team match on the March 11, 2022, edition of SmackDown.

A Belly-to-Belly Suplex from Holland to Big E did not quite go as planned, as the latter sustained a major neck injury. This resulted in the 38-year-old taking an extended hiatus from the in-ring wrestling scene.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted, Bill Apter talked about how Big E could return after 997 days at The New Day 10th anniversary special episode of WWE RAW on December 2, 2024.

"Big E is gonna try and make peace between them, and somebody is gonna wind up hitting him by accident. Then there is gonna be all this dissension. Then all the set is gonna come down, or whatever they have there. It's gonna be pulled apart," he said. [24:40 onwards]

For now, it remains to be seen what Big E plans to do next in the Stamford-based company.
