Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Shinsuke Nakamura getting a push on SmackDown. The star showed up this week and attacked LA Knight.
The Megastar was in a United States Championship match against Santos Escobar this week. Halfway through the match, Nakamura showed up on the titantron with a video package to throw Knight off his game. However, the champ managed to win the match. In the aftermath of the encounter, The King of Strong Style brutally attacked the winner and left him in the ring.
This week on Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell felt WWE never quite utilized Shinsuke Nakamura correctly. He mentioned this feud had great potential if the creative team booked The King of Strong Style as a major star. The veteran manager suggested that Knight was very entertaining and that this rivalry could be a milestone moment in his US Title reign.
"Hey, I've never been a Nakamura fan because they didn't do anything with him. He was just taking up space and time on TV. And his character, he was just a Japanese guy that had very little substance to him... I think this does have a little bit room to grow if they want it to and see what we can get out of it. He's a hell of a talent. They may have turned the page on him which I hope they have. Anything LA Knight does is entertaining as hell anyway. We'll see what they can do with it."
