Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Jade Cargill being attacked backstage on SmackDown. The star was carried out of the arena in an ambulance.
Bianca Belair was in a Women's United States Championship tournament Triple Threat match against Chelsea Green and Blair Davenport when the cameras panned backstage to show Cargill laid out on top of a car. The EST left the match to tend to her partner, allowing Green to pin Davenport for the win.
During this week's Smack Talk podcast, Mantell mentioned that the whole angle was brilliantly executed. He pointed out that the stars had a great Triple Threat match and the backstage angle with Jade Cargill was believable as well. The veteran mentioned that he didn't know of the backstage tensions between Bianca and Bayley and he could still make sense of the direction WWE was going with this.
"Let's take it from my vantage point. I liked it. The chemistry was right about it and I don't even have to know about the background. That's all I gotta know and then somebody else can fill me in. They had a good match. Usually the girls' three ways, they're not all that precise and not a lot of precision. This had all that. I thought these girls worked very, very well together." [From 18:10 onwards]
Jade Cargill was scheduled to be part of the WarGames match at Survivor Series where she would team up with Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, and Naomi to take on Nia Jax, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LeRae.
It will be interesting to see whether Cargill is ready in time for the WarGames match next Saturday at Survivor Series.
