CM Punk's latest WWE appearance on Friday Night SmackDown has sparked conversation in the wrestling world. While Carmelo Hayes shared a piece of advice he received from The Best in The World, another major star took a shot at the former one-time NXT Champion, two-time NXT North American Champion, and one-time NXT Cruiserweight Champion.

Paul Heyman made a massive return on the November 22, 2024, installment of the blue brand. The Wiseman brought Punk as the fifth member of Roman Reigns' team for the Men's WarGames Match at Survivor Series.

Melo was involved in a backstage altercation with the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes on last night's SmackDown. Following this, the company announced that the two men would face each other in the ring on next week's show.

On X/Twitter, Carmelo Hayes mentioned that The Second City Saint advised him to never lose another backstage fight after what happened with The American Nightmare. Responding to the tweet, Andrade gave a shoutout to CM Punk before taunting the 30-year-old star about losing a match in the past.

"CM PUNK ES MI AMIGO!! #Tranquilo. Don’t forget you lost with me but you don't need to feel bad because other kids too!!" he wrote.

WWE veteran comments on CM Punk and Roman Reigns' alliance on SmackDown

As mentioned earlier, because of Paul Heyman, The Voice of The Voiceless decided to join forces with the OG Bloodline ahead of Survivor Series. Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell shared his two cents on the major developments that took place on SmackDown in the long-running family saga.

Speaking on Sportskeeda's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell claimed he knew The Wiseman was going to appear on the blue brand. The veteran, however, was surprised by CM Punk's return to SmackDown alongside Heyman.

"I knew Paul Heyman was going to be in there, but since I don't watch RAW, you know, CM Punk has moved off my radar. So, I didn't even think CM Punk, but I knew Heyman would be there. It was really one of the better segments I've seen on SmackDown this year because they put it together fine," said Mantell.

Roman Reigns and The Best in The World have seemingly decided to keep their differences aside for the WWE Hall of Famer. However, the intense confrontation between the two former World Champions could be a setup for a future showdown.
