Nick Aldis to announce a title match for WWE Royal Rumble 2025? Exploring potential announcement on SmackDown

After the positive reception of RAW on Netflix, WWE is shifting its focus towards the upcoming Royal Rumble PLE. As the first major premium live event of the year, the company is looking to bring its A-game to the table. With that in mind, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis may reveal a significant title match for the event during the upcoming episode of the Friday Night Show.

This situation will likely happen, especially since it involves the WWE Women's Championship. With the recent change in ownership, fans are eager to see the title defended at Royal Rumble 2025. This is a strong motivation for Nick Aldis to make it happen.

On last week's SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton, after months of teasing, finally cashed in her Money in the Bank contract. The Buff Barbie pinned Nia Jax after The Irresistible Force's successful title defense against Naomi to become the new WWE Women's Champion. This obviously won't sit well with the reigning Queen of the Ring, and in a bid to avoid chaos, Nick Aldis may grant her a rematch for the title at the Royal Rumble PLE.

It certainly would make for an incredible match. But of course, at this point, it remains nothing more than mere speculation.

The Undisputed WWE Championship will be on the line at the 2025 Royal Rumble

Whether or not the WWE Women's Championship is defended at the Royal Rumble remains to be seen. However, one world title match has already been announced for the event, and it involves Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes. The bitter rivals will battle for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Two weeks ago, The American Nightmare returned to SmackDown after taking a Package Piledriver from KO at Saturday Night's Main Event and confronted the latter. Cody offered to put the Undisputed WWE Title on the line, provided The Prizefighter agreed to do the same with the Winged Eagle Championship that he stole at SNME. A deal was agreed upon, and now both titles will be suspended high above the ring when the two stars battle in a Ladder Match at the Royal Rumble.

This is more than a title match, though; it is a blood feud, and many believe the two will be out to kill each other. It will be interesting to see which star emerges victorious come February 1, 2025.
