This week's episode of WWE SmackDown marked the final show of the blue brand in 2024. This closing event of the year featured many thrilling moments and announcements.
Nick Aldis officially announced the rematch between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens for Royal Rumble 2025, set to take place as a Ladder match. Additionally, the Bloodline saga saw a massive development.
In this article, we will discuss five things WWE subtly told us about the blue brand this week.
Sami Zayn clashed with Carmelo Hayes in the main event of the latest episode of SmackDown. However, earlier in the show, The Honorary Uce confronted the SmackDown GM and hinted at having a conversation.
This seems to be a significant indication of Zayn moving to the blue brand as part of the transfer window. As of now, the former Intercontinental Champion is a part of Monday Night RAW, but with the Bloodline saga being central to SmackDown, it appears that the former Undisputed Tag Team Champion is keen on joining the blue brand.
When Carmelo Hayes was running away from Sami Zayn, Braun Strowman made his appearance and stopped Carmelo in his tracks. However, the Monster of All Monsters soon witnessed the new Bloodline attacking Sami in a post-match assault.
As a result, Strowman joined the brawl and attempted to rescue Sami Zayn. However, he failed in his attempt and instead suffered a brutal beatdown at the hands of Solo Sikoa’s faction.
This development seems to hint at Strowman’s inclusion in the Bloodline saga, as he will surely seek vengeance for being destroyed by the new Bloodline.
The Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes rematch is official for Royal Rumble 2025. However, one significant action by KO at the end of the announcement could lead to serious consequences. He pushed Nick Aldis onto The American Nightmare to take the latter down.
Assaulting the SmackDown General Manager might result in KO facing repercussions, as Aldis could punish him for his actions.
During a backstage segment on the recent SmackDown, WWE hinted at a potential new alliance between Apollo Crews and The Street Profits. This occurred when the former confronted them and revealed that DIY were the ones behind the mysterious attack on them a few weeks ago.
It seems Apollo is trying to gain the trust of Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford, potentially leading to the formation of an alliance against DIY.
Since Jade Cargill has been taken out of the Stamford-based promotion, Naomi has managed to become the other half of the tag team champions alongside Bianca Belair. During the latest edition of the blue brand, Belair discussed Jade's mystery attacker and emphasized that she will not stop until she finds the real culprit.
The EST also mentioned that Naomi is supporting her in this mission. However, Naomi’s reaction during the segment appeared to strongly suggest that she might either be the one who attacked Cargill or knows something about the attacker but is unwilling to reveal it.
