Massive update on Kevin Owens' WWE future [Reports]

Kevin Owens is currently enjoying his run as the 'true' WWE Champion. A recent report has possibly shed light on his future in the sports entertainment juggernaut.

The Prizefighter's WWE deal seemingly ends in early 2025. While Owens has been featured in major storylines, there's been no proper update on him renewing his contract with the Stamford-based promotion. It was revealed a couple of months ago that WWE views KO as a 'very important superstar' and intends to keep him for a few more years.

Sean Ross Sapp, on the Fightful Select podcast, stated that he hasn't been "outright" told that Kevin Owens has re-signed with WWE, but "it's safe to assume at this point."

Veteran says Kevin Owens "killed" WWE Superstar

The recently concluded Saturday Night's Main Event saw Cody Rhodes successfully defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. However, the show didn't end well for The American Nightmare.

Owens viciously attacked Rhodes with a package piledriver, resulting in the latter being taken out of the arena in an ambulance. The Prizefighter even stole the Winged Title belt before getting physical with Triple H.

While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell said the piledriver spot was believable because it seemed like KO almost "killed" Cody. Mantell even felt it may have been the "best move" he saw in the last few years.

"I am watching that… package piledriver. My god! You can take the tape and speed it up or slow it down, you can even look at it increment by increment and it looks like he killed him. That’s why the people bought into it. There was actually no room between the top of the head and the mat. It looked like he ripped him in two which is how you get people to believe. It was a very very… that’s probably the best move I have seen in the last couple of years." [25:12 onwards]

It remains to be seen how Triple H books the feud between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens in the coming weeks, especially with KO's contract status up in the air.
