Welcome to a new edition of the WWE News & Rumor roundup. Today we will look at some big stories currently making the rounds in the world of pro wrestling.
The company reportedly has some big plans for CM Punk in the near future. Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley's new look has received praise from a veteran. A current champion has been replaced in the Women's WarGames Match.
Meanwhile, a well-known wrestling figure has claimed that Triple H had CM Punk replace Seth Rollins in the Men's WarGames Match because of him.
On that note, let's get started:
Paul Heyman made a blockbuster return to television on the latest edition of WWE SmackDown with his former client, CM Punk. There were murmurs of Seth Rollins being the fifth member of the OG Bloodline for the Men's WarGames Match. However, that didn't happen, as The Second City Saint was revealed as the final member of Team Reigns.
Meanwhile, wrestling veteran Vince Russo has claimed that the company made that decision because of him. On the latest edition of BroDown, he stated that The Visionary was set to be the final member of Team Roman Reigns for the Men's WarGames Match. However, he claimed that Triple H read one of his posts on X (Twitter) and made a last-minute change.
Russo also criticized Punk's addition to the Men's WarGames Match, stating that it made no sense.
Rhea Ripley suffered a fractured orbital bone after she was attacked by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez last month on NXT. However, Mami returned on the latest edition of RAW with a new look to join the Women's WarGames Match.
Rhea Ripley was seen wearing a protective face mask. The former Judgment Day member's new look has received praise from wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell.
In the latest episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, the former manager said that he loved Ripley's mask before praising the entire segment that saw The Eradicator join the Women's WarGames Match.
As mentioned earlier, CM Punk made an electrifying return last night to join Team Roman Reigns for the Men's WarGames Match. However, a recent report has shed light on what the future may hold for The Voice of The Voiceless.
According to WRKD Wrestling, the creative team could soon have The Second City Saint kick off his highly anticipated feud with Seth Rollins, with Punk possibly citing that he stepped up to help Roman Reigns when The Visionary refused to join forces with his former Shield 'brother!'
Rollins has previously heaped high praise on the Original Tribal Chief, calling the latter his brother. However, his refusal to help the OTC and Punk subsequently joining Team Roman could be used to weave an interesting storyline involving The Messiah and The Best in The World.
Jade Cargill was taken out backstage by a mysterious attacker on the latest edition of WWE SmackDown. The current Women's Tag Team champion was put through a car windshield. The Storm was later hospitalized.
Meanwhile, the company taped next week's WWE SmackDown last night, and a huge spoiler has come out of the tapings. The attack on Jade Cargill has led to her being ruled out of the Women's WarGames Match, with the Triple H-led creative team replacing the babyface champion with Bayley.
