Welcome to another edition of WWE News and Rumor Roundup, where we try to discuss all the top stories and gossip making the rounds in the world of the pro wrestling juggernaut. In today's piece, we will look at topics around CM Punk and Roman Reigns, among others.
Also, it has been confirmed that a major name has suffered a legitimate injury and will be sidelined for the next few months. So, without any further delay, let's begin.
The Survivor Series go-home edition of Monday Night RAW will be live tonight from the Diamond Desert Arena in Arizona. So far, four matches have been announced for the show.
Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee will join forces to take on the Creed Brothers, while the New Day will clash with the Alpha Academy. Bron Breakker will get a chance to settle scores with Ludwig Kaiser as the duo will face off in a singles match after the latter interrupted the champion's match on the red brand last week. Also, Bianca Belair will face Nia Jax in the WarGames Advantage Match.
Jade Cargill was a victim of a backstage attack on SmackDown last week, with her attacker still unknown. While many expected the WWE Women's Tag Team Champion's injury to be a work, a recent report has claimed that the champion has suffered a legitimate injury and could be out for at least three months.
Cargill was set to participate in the five vs. five Women's WarGames Match at Survivor Series. Her replacement will be revealed on SmackDown this upcoming Friday. She could also vacate the title after this setback.
Roman Reigns is set to compete in his second WarGames match this weekend as the OTC will join forces with his old stablemates and CM Punk to take on the new Bloodline. Reigns holds a near-perfect record at Survivor Series and has lost just two matches at the premium live event.
WWE acknowledged this ahead of this year's event, handing Roman the nickname of "Mr. Survivor Series."
Roman Reigns received a huge boost last week on SmackDown as his Wiseman returned along with the fifth member of his team. However, it remains to be seen how the OTC and CM Punk get along inside the WarGames structure.
CM Punk stunned the WWE Universe this past Friday as he returned along with Paul Heyman to join Roman Reigns' team for the upcoming WarGames match. Mark Henry shared his thoughts on the return, noting that it was different to see Punk in a new role.
"It was different last night. It was different because when has Punk ever been the savior? Punk has always been the assassin. He's always been the problem." Henry continued, "Never, never, ever was Punk the solution and the savior. It was so different and it felt different. Tell me I'm lying."
CM Punk was last seen in action at Bad Blood, where he defeated Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior is still on the sidelines.
