Harry Kane has reacted on social media after England announced Thomas Tuchel as their new manager. The Englishman welcomed the new boss, who will be taking charge starting in January.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kane posted that he was looking forward to working under his former manager again. He posted:

"Looking forward to playing under the boss again!"

Kane played 32 matches under Tuchel in the Bundesliga and scored 36 times for the German side. He averaged a goal every 79 minutes and will be hoping to get those numbers for the national team too.

Tuchel also commented on working with Kane but stated that he has not decided if the striker will remain as the England captain. He said:

"I did not speak to Harry… I haven't done it yet. It's too early to answer these kinds of questions. You know how highly I think of Harry and how much I fought to bring him to Bayern Munich. He is already on his way to being a legend in English football. But now I think it is very important to give the respect to Lee (Carsley) and have the camp in November and take his decisions free of me interfering."

Thomas Tuchel spoke to The FA's website on Wednesday after he was unveiled as the new coach.

Gary Neville not happy with Thomas Tuchel becoming the new England manager

Gary Neville has admitted that Thomas Tuchel is a great manager but does not want him as the England boss. He claimed that the German would have been welcomed to the Premier League again but wanted to see an Englishman in charge of the national side.

He said (via Sky Sports):

"He is a great coach, he's got a proven track record. He's a winner and he knows he can work with big players and handle big personalities. He ticks every single box. I'd love Thomas Tuchel to be a coach in the Premier League. We need the best coaches, we thrive on that. You can't deny what Thomas Tuchel is. All I'm saying is English coaching is in a worse position today than it was yesterday."
"I think everyone will wish him all the best and hope he can get over the line and win a trophy but I think there are some serious questions for the FA to answer in respect of English coaches. I do think we are damaging ourselves. With the likes of Graham Potter and Eddie Howe, I do think there are outstanding candidates that could have been appointed that are English," he added.

England were looking for a new manager following Gareth Southgate leaving his role after the EURO 2024 final loss to Spain. Pep Guardiola and Graham Potter were also linked with the role but the German won the race.
