According to reports from Saudi Arabia (via Al Nassr Zone on X), Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate Aymeric Laporte has returned to training. The Spanish defender was unavailable for recent fixtures but has returned to bolster the team's efforts. He last played for the side on November 1.
Laporte joined the Riyadh-based side in August 2023 from Manchester City in a deal reportedly valued at €27.5 million. He joined the Saudi Pro-League after winning six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League, among other honors, with the English side. He was also part of the Spanish team that won Euro 2024 this summer in Germany.
Laporte has played 4226 minutes across 49 games alongside Cristiano Ronaldo for Al-Nassr. The pair combined for one goal and have averaged 2.35 points per game.
Laporte is contracted to the Arabian club till the summer of 2026, while Ronaldo's deal expires in the summer of 2025. The pair will be keen to play together again on Friday when the Saudi side faces Damac FC in the AFC Champions League.
Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate, Aymeric Laporte, has opened the door to join Real Madrid if possible. The Spanish defender is one of the targets linked with a move to the Madrid-based club after they have suffered injury setbacks.
Los Blancos are widely believed to be the greatest club in the world. They have won the UEFA Champions League 15 times and have been home to some of the best players in the sport's history.
Speaking about how open he is to joining the club, Laporte said via FotMob:
"A call from Madrid? Sounds good. I would listen to the call. Obviously, you don't look down on teams like Real Madrid."
Laporte's Al-Nassr teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, is a Real Madrid legend after spending a fabulous nine-year stint in the Spanish capital. He won four UEFA Champions Leagues and four Ballon d'Or awards and became the club's record goalscorer with 450 goals.
Real Madrid have been linked with a move for a defender in the upcoming winter transfer to bolster their squad after suffering poor luck with injuries. David Alaba is still recovering from an ACL injury while Eder Militao is out for the season due to an ACL injury. Laporte hopes he will be selected to make a move to the reigning UEFA Champions League holders.
