Tesla and social media platform X owner Elon Musk congratulated Cristiano Ronaldo following A-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al-Gharafa in the AFC Champions League on Monday, November 25. The American billionaire replied to Ronaldo’s post on X (formerly Twitter).

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr traveled to the Al Bayt Stadium for their fifth group game of the AFC Champions League. Prior to the clash, the Knights of Najd were third in Group B of the competition’s standings.

After a goalless first half, Cristiano Ronaldo broke the deadlock in the 46th minute, powering home a cross from Sultan Al-Ghannam. Angelo Gabriel doubled Al-Nassr’s tally in the 58th minute after a neat one-two exchange with Otavio.

Ronaldo got himself on the scoresheet again in the 64th minute to extend his side’s lead. Ex-Real Madrid striker Joselu scored for the hosts in the 75th minute, but Stefano Pioli’s men held on to their lead for the remaining minutes to see out a 3-1 victory.

After the match, Cristiano Ronaldo took to his X account to post images of his goal celebration during the game and captioned it with:

‘’Big win tonight!’’

Elon Musk replied:

''Congrats!''

Following the brace against Al-Gharafa, Cristiano Ronaldo is now the joint-second top-scorer in the AFC Champions League this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr are still in the title race in the Saudi Pro League after Al-Hilal dropped points

Since Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023, he is yet to win a trophy with the club. He couldn't propel the Knights of Najd to league glory in his debut season as they finished second behind Al-Ittihad. In his first full campaign in Saudi Arabia, Al-Nassr finished behind reigning champions Al-Hilal in the league.

Stefano Pioli's men are currently in the third position on the Saudi Pro League table. They’ve secured 22 points from 11 games and are six points behind second-placed Al-Hilal and eight points behind leaders Al-Ittihad.

In recent times, Al-Hilal have been the team to beat for Al-Nassr. The Knights of Najd haven't won any of their last seven games across competitions against the reigning Saudi Pro League Champions. The last match between both sides ended in a 1-1 draw.

After Stefano Pioli’s men fell to a 1-2 defeat against Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League, Al-Hilal failed to capitalize on the defeat as they also lost to Al-Khaleej 3-2.
