Brazil great Neymar has mocked Manchester City star Rodri after his comments on his teammate and Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr. The Brazilian has called him a 'talker' now and stated that the Ballon d'Or winner was talking too much in recent weeks.

Rodri was on Spanish TV program El Largeuro when he said that Vinicius Jr still had areas to improve and urged him to focus more on on-pitch action. The Manchester City star added that the Real Madrid winger was still young and had a lot of time to improve. He said:

“I think he's an intelligent guy and he'll realise over time that the more he pays attention to the pitch, the better he'll be. Like everyone, he has areas for improvement both on and off the pitch. He's young, I'm sure that people will give him good advice and even more so when he's at Madrid. It's a club with values.”

Neymar was not impressed with the comments and posted on Instagram:

"Virou falador agora (which translates to 'he became a talker now' in English)."

Vinicius Jr and Real Madrid boycotted the Ballon d'Or gala this year after it was widely reported that Rodri was winning the award.

Rodri was quizzed about the rumored interest from Real Madrid and he did not categorically rule out a move. He added that it was an honor to be linked with Los Blancos and said (via ESPN):

"Obviously when Madrid, the best and most successful club in history, calls you, it is an honour. You always have to pay attention. But obviously of course not. I don't look too far ahead but it's a possibility that I could perfectly end my career in England."

However, the Ballon d'Or winner admitted that he was happy in England and added:

"It's a country that has given me everything, I have fallen in love with football there. The club is spectacular, not just from a sporting level but how it's structured. I feel comfortable and loved there. But Spain is my country. I am always aware of the League, the level of the teams is growing more and more. I've been lucky to play in both leagues, to have the best coaches in the world and I feel very satisfied."

Rodri is currently out of action with an ACL injury. He is expected to make a return towards the end of the 2024/25 season.
