"He can score every type of goal" - Arsenal told to replace Kai Havertz with PL striker to challenge for the league

TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Arsenal to replace Kai Havertz with Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak to challenge for the league title. The north London side came close to claiming the title in the previous two seasons, but were pipped to the prize by Manchester City both times.

The Gunners signed Havertz from Chelsea last summer for a reported €75 million. He has played 68 times for the Gunners, scoring 21 goals and providing eight assists. The German forward has had an impressive start to the ongoing campaign, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in 17 appearances.

However, Havertz's output has not impressed Agbonlahor, who said on talkSPORT's breakfast program:

"They're too reliant on [Bukayo] Saka. [Gabriel] Martinelli will turn up one game out of five. Arsenal are dying for an Isak. He can hold the ball up, he's strong, he's aggressive, he's quick in behind and he can score every type of goal."
"Havertz is getting bullied, you don't know where he's playing. The Chelsea game he was so poor. Arsenal, if they don't make a top striker sign in January, I don't think they're going to be up there."

Isak has been impressive for Newcastle United since arriving from Real Sociedad in a deal reportedly worth €70 million. In 78 games for the Magpies, he has scored 40 goals and set up seven.

Arsenal tipped to make loan move for Real Madrid midfielder - Reports

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are plotting a move for Real Madrid's teenage sensation Arda Guler. The Turkish international joined the Spanish giants in 2023 for a reported €20 million from Fenerbahce, but has found game time hard to come by.

The 19-year-old has played just 747 minutes across 24 games since he arrived in the Spanish capital but has bagged six goals in those scant minutes. The north London side want to bring Guler in on loan initially, much like they did with Martin Odegaard in 2021.

Guler might consider a loan move in January if his chances at game-time continue to look unlikely. He is contracted to the reigning UEFA Champions League holders until the summer of 2029.
