Enzo Fernandez has waxed lyrical about Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer. The Argentine midfielder has stated that Palmer embodies humility and hard work.

Fernandez added that the former Manchester City man is one of the best players in the Premier League, alongside Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and City’s Erling Haaland.

Cole Palmer joined Chelsea from City in the summer of 2023 for a reported fee of €42.5 million. The price raised eyebrows among the Blues' faithful given his limited top-flight experience.

Palmer, however, silenced his doubters in his debut season at Stamford Bridge with his virtuoso displays. He has picked up from where he left off last season, as he is currently Chelsea’s top scorer (11) in the Premier League this season.

Since Palmer arrived at Stamford Bridge, a lot of people, including fellow footballers and pundits, have gushed over his performances. Enzo Fernandez is the latest to heap praise on the forward. He said (via ESPN Argentina):

"Uf, Cole Palmer is very, very good. I see him training every day. He’s a very humble guy who works really hard. He has an incredible quality. Hopefully, we can enjoy him for a long time. He and Mo Salah, with Haaland are among the best players in the Premier League.”

"Loves football, humble, no strange things" – Enzo Maresca says Cole Palmer’s humility has fueled his success at Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca had also previously claimed that Cole Palmer is a humble person. The Italian tactician believes that the 22-year-old's humility is one of the things that has made him succeed at the west London club.

The Blues emphatically came back from two goals down to beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 in an action-packed derby in the Premier League on December 8. Cole Palmer starred in the match with two goals from the penalty spot. After the match, Maresca gave his two cents about Palmer’s performance. He said (via ESPN):

"I know Cole from four or five years ago. The best thing from him is that four, five years ago when he was with me he was one way and now after two years, 20-30 goals and everyone considers him one of the [best] he is exactly the same guy. Loves football, humble, no strange things. This is the best thing for Cole and for young players because today, young players if they play one game good they think they are [top] and they lose the balance. He is always the same, doesn't change, and we are very happy with Cole."

Palmer has scored 36 goals and provided 21 assists for the Blues in 64 appearances across competitions.
