Lionel Messi's former teammate, Sergio Aguero, believes that the Premier League title is not sealed in favor of Liverpool. He believes that his former side, Manchester City, can still make a comeback in the title race.

Speaking to Stake, Aguero stated that pundits are quick to make calls these days and he does not see why Manchester City cannot make a comeback in the title race. He believes that beating Liverpool this weekend will help them reduce the gap at the top of the league.

He said via Goal:

“Pundits are always quick to call the race and my response is always the same: it ain't over until it's over. The current point advantage may be insignificant by the end of the season. We've seen that happen frequently. The 2011-12 season had us eight points below United and we took that trophy. Of course, beating L'pool will certainly help, but it's not wise to make such sweeping statements when the tournament still has a long way to go.”

Sergio Aguero played a key role in Manchester City's first title win when they defeated QPR on the final day of the 2011-12 season in dramatic fashion to edge out Manchester United to the top of the table. He scored a 94-minute goal to take home the trophy.

Overall, Aguero scored 260 goals and provided 64 assists in 390 games during his stint with the Cityzens.

Pep Guardiola admits Liverpool are favorites for the Premier League title

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that Liverpool are leading the Premier League title chase this season. He added that his side are not ready to think about the title as they are not close to the Reds.

He said via The Guardian:

"Yeah, because this L'pool is winning, winning, winning. I don’t know. But it’s not thinking about whether you’re going to win or lose [the championship]. We are not ready to think about what is going to happen at the end of the season. At the end [if] we don’t win [the title] it’s because we don’t deserve it – when we won in the past it was because we deserve it. What we have to do now is Feyenoord [on Tuesday]. That is the most important thing – first for the qualification for the Champions League – and step by step the players will be better.”

Liverpool are eight points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League table. The Cityzens have lost their last three matches in the league, while losing their last five across all competitions.
