Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo dominated European football for almost two decades, leaving behind unparalleled legacies for generations to look up to. The two won as many as 13 Ballon d'Ors between themselves, a testament to how good they were for a long time.

Even at the dusk of their respective careers, they are still doing well outside Europe. Messi is currently on the books of MLS side Inter Miami while Ronaldo plies his trade for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Mohamed Salah, on the other hand, has been the standout player in the Premier League this season. The Egyptian has been Liverpool's key player up front for years since his reported £34.4 million switch to Anfield from Roma in 2017.

The 32-year-old, fondly called 'The Egyptian King', named Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in his dream five-man side alongside himself. He also named his Liverpool teammate Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Salah hailed both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in his interviews in the past. He insisted that Messi would have thrived if he had played in the Premier League while lauding Ronaldo for his dedication to the game. He said, as quoted by SPORTbible:

"You are talking about the best player in the world, wherever he goes, he will play football, and football for Messi is a divine talent. Cristiano [Ronaldo] was also the one when I started playing in Europe more, you see the way he dedicated everything to football is insane, the way he looks after himself. You can see everything, his numbers."

Mohamed Salah has been on fire for Arne Slot's Liverpool this season helping them lead both the Premier League and Champions League tables. The Egypt international has scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists in 25 games across competitions this season.
