Former English defender Jamie Carragher feels that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has a great chance to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or. Arne Slot's Liverpool are at the top spot in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League and Salah have been their talisman in the success.

The Egyptian icon has played 25 games across all competitions for the Reds, bagging 19 goals and 15 assists. Aged 32, he's the top goalscorer in the Premier League with 16 goals, three strikes clear of last year's Golden Boot winner Manchester City's Erling Haaland (13).

Addressing the Egyptian forward's current form, Jamie Carragher claimed that Mohamed Salah has a great chance of winning the 2025 Ballon d'Or. He said in his Telegraph column (via the Mirror):

"Salah's goal and assist tally is consistently amazing and there is no bigger admirer of good talent than me, regardless of what his fan club on social media might say."

Carragher added:

"Salah has stated in the past that he wants to become the second African to win the Ballon d'Or after George Weah did so in 1995. I think he has a great chance."

During the Reds' 6-3 victory over Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, December 22, Salah scored a brace and provided an assist. With the brace, he overtook Billy Liddell in Liverpool's all-time top goalscorer list. Liddell played for the Reds between 1938 and 1961, scoring 228 goals.

English defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has told Liverpool directors that he wants to leave the Merseyside outfit next summer to join Real Madrid, as per Spanish outlet MARCA. The Englishman's contract at Anfield will expire next summer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is Liverpool's academy product. He made his senior debut in 2016 and since then, he has made 332 appearances for the Reds, bagging 19 goals and 85 assists across all competitions. However, he's nearing an exit from the club next summer as his contract renewal is getting difficult for the Reds.

Alexander-Arnold's English teammate Jude Bellingham has reportedly played a crucial role in convincing the 26-year-old to join Real Madrid. Los Blancos see the Englishman as a long-term replacement for Spanish right-back Dani Carvajal. Apart from Alexander-Arnold, the contracts of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are also set to expire in the summer of 2025.
