Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah has shared a Christmas photo alongside his family on social media. The Egypt national team captain's post has brought in mixed reactions from his fans.
In the picture, Salah is seen with his wife Magi and daughters Makka, 10, and Kayan, 4 with all of them wearing festive matching pajamas and sitting in front of a Christmas tree with an oversized gingerbread man.
While the star forward and his family appear to be having a good time, fans on social media were divided, sharing positive and negative takes on the post.
Some fans pursued the theory that both Salah and Liverpool lose their form shortly after he makes his Christmas annual message. However, in 2019, he made a similar post and the Reds won the Premier League that season.
Meanwhile, others criticized him for celebrating the festivity despite coming from a different religion. Many fans also supported the 32-year-old and appreciated him for respecting other cultures and traditions.
The Reds are currently leading the Premier League and Champions League tables. The Egyptian icon has also been in great form with 18 goals and 15 assists in 24 appearances across competitions.
Mohamed Salah arrived at Anfield from Roma in 2017 and so far he has registered 229 goals and 103 assists in 373 appearances across competitions for Liverpool. His current contract with the Reds is valid until the summer of 2025.
Mohamed Salah spoke about his future at Anfield following Liverpool's 6-3 win against Tottenham in the Premier League on December 22.
The Egyptian star registered two goals and as many assists in the match on Sunday. With his goal contributions in the Reds' win against Spurs, Salah created history by becoming the first player in the Premier League to reach double figures for both goals and assists before Christmas.
Following the clash, the 32-year-old was asked about his future at the club with his current contract coming to an end soon. He replied (via GOAL):
"No update. It's great to achieve that at such a big club, but the most important thing is that we won the game. Wherever I am going to end my career I am happy about it."
Mohamed Salah also became the Reds' fourth all-time top goal scorer after netting a brace against Tottenham.
While many reports suggest that Liverpool and Salah are closing in on signing a new deal, no official announcements have been made yet.
