Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing Barcelona playmaker Dani Olmo ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window. As claimed by BBC Sport Manchester via centredevils on X, Olmo's agent has traveled to Manchester to explore options for his client.
Olmo only joined Barcelona in the summer in a reported €55 million deal from RB Leipzig but faces an uncertain future at Camp Nou. The European Championship-winning Spain international could be forced to depart the Catalan club in January owning to Barca's financial situation.
Due to their financial situation, Blaugrana only managed to secure a temporary registration for Olmo in the summer. However, his temporary registration expires this month and they must now find ways to register him permanently in January.
Barcelona might have to let Olmo depart on a free in January if they fail to register the 26-year-old. The Spaniard has attracted interest from clubs across Europe and Manchester United have also reportedly joined the race.
Olmo has enjoyed a decent return to his boyhood club having contributed with six goals and one assist in 15 appearances thus far this season. During his time at RB Leipzig, he established himself as one of the best players in the Bundesliga with 29 goals and 34 assists in 148 games.
Ruben Amorim has endured a mixed start to his tenure at Manchester United winning just four of his first nine games in charge. A player like Olmo could be a solid addition to his side, especially given the 3-4-2-1 system he regularly deploys.
Barcelona will reportedly offer Manchester United Ansu Fati as part of a swap deal to land Marcus Rashford. As claimed by TEAMtalk, Blaugrana are ready to step up their chase for the Red Devils outcast.
Manchester United are reportedly happy to let Rashford go in January after the forward has become out of favor under Ruben Amorim. Barcelona are reportedly huge admirers of the 27-year-old and are looking to offer him an exit route.
Ansu Fati, who spent the last season on loan at Brighton, has struggled under Hansi Flick upon his return to Camp Nou. He has played just 158 minutes of football across competitions and is yet to score or assist.
Rashford, on the other hand, has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 24 appearances this campaign. In total, he has scored 138 goals and 63 assists in 426 appearances for the Red Devils to date.
