Manchester United defensive duo Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire have returned to training ahead of their UEFA Europa League clash against Bodo/Glimt. The pair missed Ruben Amorim's first game in charge through injury but were seen taking part in training.

The Red Devils are preparing for the visit of the Norweigan outfit to Old Trafford on Thursday (November 28). Martinez and Maguire were involved in training drills for the first time under Amorim's regime. Footage below, posted on X by Manchester World reporter Rich Fay shows the pair being welcomed back:

It comes as good news for Manchester United who have endured a difficult season thus far. Martinez appeared in former caretaker manager Ruud van Nistelrooy's final game in charge, a 3-0 win over Leicester City (November 10). However, Martinez withdrew from international duty with Argentina due to a back problem.

Maguire has sat out United's last eight games across competitions through injury. His absence has been felt by the Reds struggling at the back, but he'll be in contention for a return against Bodo/Glimt.

Manchester United sit down in 15th in the UEFA Europa League standings after four games. Amorim will oversee his first home game at Old Trafford tomorrow night.

Manchester United started the Amorim era with a drab 1-1 away draw against Ipswich. Maguire played no part in the game as he sat out with injury but he still gave his thoughts on the game.

The veteran defender felt his teammates needed to play with more fluency. He told Sky Sports:

"I think we overthought the game against Ipswich. I think that's natural because the boys want to play the way the new manager wants. But I think we've got to let it adapt with [fluency], rather than forcing it."

Amorim looked frustrated on the touchline as his attackers pulled up trees at Portman Road. He was also thankful for Andre Onana, who made several impressive saves in goal.

Marcus Rashford gave Amorim the perfect start with an early opener in the 1st minute. Ipswich hit back through Omari Hutchinson's deflected strike on the stroke of halftime.

This means United are 12th in the Premier League, six points off the top four after 12 games. They will turn their attention to the Europa League tomorrow before colliding with Everton in the league on Sunday.
