Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has pinpointed the one area they absolutely need to improve. He thinks they lack in attack and has urged his forwards to step up and score more goals.

Speaking to the media ahead of Manchester United's Premier League clash with Brentford, Ten Hag stated that he was finding it hard to balance the starting XI as key players were missing due to injury issues. However, he believes that the team is doing well and just need to start scoring more. He said (via Manchester Evening News):

"I think the players do well, we won last season, maybe you forgot. When we face problems, sometimes we have to line up teams who are not in the right balance because players aren't available, but I think in general, the players do perform well. We have to start scoring now, which is the most important part of football. We have to improve that part."

Talking about the injuries, the manager added:

"Injuries do not help, for sure, you need players availavle to peform. Kobbie and Harry are out for a couple of weeks, but Mazraoui is good news. He has returned on the training pitch and is available tomorrow."

Manchester United are currently 14th in the Premier League table and the manager is under pressure.

Manchester United star calls for forwards to step up and score more goals

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans called for his teammates to score more goals to help them win games. He believes that the Red Devils are doing well defensively but the lack of goals is costing them matches. He told Sky Sports:

"You'd hope that you score more goals and the results will get better. The defensive side of it has improved and it's been good. So I think it's something that the manager has addressed and after coming back in after the international break, something that we want to look at, and it's not always just up to the forward players.
"I think we're getting into good positions. Our final ball needs to be better and once you get one or two goals and you start gaining that confidence in games, you can be a bit more patient around the opposition box and picking the right path and taking care."

United have scored just five goals in seven Premier League games this season.
