The Home Alone franchise has been a cult classic in the genre of holiday movies, capturing snowy Christmas excitement, through the lens of young Kevin McCallister. A production of 20th Century Studios, the franchise was created by John Hughes, who perceived this idea while on a vacation. The first movie in the franchise was theatrically released on November 16, 1990. Over the next three decades, the franchise released four films and two television series.

There is a buzz among Home Alone fans on social media after the circulation of a rumor of a new addition to the franchise titled Cabin Alone. A post, shared on November 4, 2024, by a Facebook page @YodaBBYABY shows Macaulay Culkin and Catherine O'Hara reuniting back again for Cabin Alone.

The post chronicles a storyline where Kevin and his mom plan a Christmas vacation in an isolated cabin, but end up under the threat of the two bandits Harry and Marv. The caption description also claimed that Cabin Alone will be released on Disney+ in December 2024.

However, Disney has made no official announcements on the release of a new Home Alone movie. The claims in the post are completely false, and should not be considered factual news. The intro on the Facebook page itself states that all the posts made through the account are complete satire and fake news.

Is Cabin Alone coming to Disney Plus?

Going through the intro description of the Facebook page, it can be concluded that the rumor revolving around Cabin Alone is completely false. The photo on the post titled Cabin Alone is digitally edited, and neither Macaulay Culkin nor Catherine O'Hara has made any official comments about the new movie.

Disney has made no official announcement about adding a new movie to the franchise. Home Sweet Home Alone released in 2021 was the last movie of the series, and no further projects have been announced yet. Although there can be a future movie in the series, the story in the above-mentioned post is simply a rumor. No movie named Cabin Alone is getting released on Disney+ this December.
