American actor Amanda Bynes starred alongside Channing Tatum in the 2006 comedy She's the Man, a modern take on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. The film showed Bynes' character, Viola Hastings, disguising herself as her twin brother to join a boys' soccer team. She was 19 years old at the time of the film's release.

On November 5, 2024, Amanda Bynes shared details of her weight loss journey with her Instagram followers. Posting a screenshot of her day's activity, Bynes revealed that she has lost six pounds and now weighs 154 pounds. Her app displayed an impressive 14,895 steps covering 6.6 miles and indicated she burned 481 calories, surpassing her target of 320 calories.

"Down 6lbs! 154lbs now," Bynes captioned the post, updating fans on her fitness progress.

Her recent physical goals follow a broader health journey. In March, Bynes openly discussed her mental health's impact on her weight in her Instagram stories. She noted that depression led her to gain 20-pound and wrote:

"I'm doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don't feel like working out or eating clean."

At that time, she weighed 162 pounds and shared that her goal was to return to 110 pounds.

Amanda Bynes has struggled with body image issues since her role in She's the Man. In a 2018 interview with Paper Magazine, she revealed that watching herself in the movie triggered deep insecurities.

"When the movie came out... I went into a deep depression for 4-6 months because I didn't like how I looked when I was a boy," she recalled.

The physical transformation required for her character led to negative self-perception, an issue that eventually contributed to her decision to step back from acting in 2012.

These insecurities fed into her experimentation with drugs. Initially turning to substances like ecstasy, cocaine, and Adderall, Bynes developed an addiction. Her struggles became public, and by 2013, her personal life spiraled, resulting in legal issues and arrests for drug possession and DUI.

Due to her mental health struggles, Amanda Bynes' parents sought her conservatorship. It was in 2013 when she was hospitalized under the state's orders and was under the conservatorship of her mother until 2022. While under conservatorship, she underwent blepharoplasty, a cosmetic surgery of the upper or lower eyelids.

In December 2023, Bynes took to TikTok and explained that she looks different because of her eyelid surgery.
