The community has come together to share gifts with the affected family of four, Makayla, TaMarcus, and their kids, to help them in their struggle to recover. Jill Wagner has a military heritage, and her husband is an active member of the United States Army Reserves. Makyala has dedicated her entire life to the service of veterans and army personnel while working in a North Carolina Hospital. The platform describes the event with the following words,

Jill Wagner is an actress and television personality who started her professional career in the 2003 MTV series Punk'd. She had trained at the Barbizon Modeling and Acting School and had an active modeling career, appearing in many reputed magazine covers.
In 2006, she became a host of the WGN America show Inside the Vault. During this time she also appeared in major films and TV shows including Blade: The Series, Bones, and Splinter. From 2008 to 2011, the actress hosted the ABC game show Wipeout. She also appeared in MTV's Teen Wolf, Taylor Sheridan's Special Ops: Lioness series, and the Canadian film Braven.
In the later part of her career, Wagner mostly appeared in made-for-television films on Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Mystery, and Great American Family. These films include A Merry Christmas Wish, A Christmas Miracle for Daisy, Bringing Christmas Home, and Christmas Under the Northern Lights among several others.
