Conservative radio talk show host and writer Dennis Prager has been hospitalized recently after suffering a severe back injury as a result of a fall. The news of his medical emergency was first shared by his nonprofit advocacy group and media organization PragerU on November 13 via social media platform, X.
“On Tuesday morning, PragerU founder and our dear friend, Dennis Prager, suffered a serious back injury following a fall. He's resting in a local Los Angeles hospital as doctors assess treatment options. We will keep you informed of his condition. In the meantime, Dennis welcomes the healing power of your prayers,” the post read.
Later, the news was also shared on his official X account via a video statement from his employer The Salem News Channel, read out by his colleague and guest host, Mark Davis.
“Join us in praying for Dennis's quick recovery from a back injury!” the November 14 post was captioned.
In the video, Mark Davis shared the same information on the PragerU post and added that he already offered his best wishes to the veteran host. He urged fellow well-wishers, fans, and listeners to join him in “praying” for Dennis Prager’s “quick recovery.” Davis also read out a list of guest hosts including Jennifer Horn, Bob Frantz, and Carl Jackson who will be temporarily filling in to host his designated show which airs from noon to 2 PM ET.
Dennis Prager is a well-known American conservative radio talk show host, political commentator, thinker, motivational speaker, and author. He has been the host of the nationally syndicated self-titled on-air talk show since 1999 which runs from Los Angeles and covers topics ranging from politics and religion to culture and sports.
The 76-year-old has also appeared across 400 radio stations in the country including Salem Radio Network, Tuneln.com, iHeartRadio.com, and more.
In 2011, Dennis co-founded an online platform called PragerU (short for Prager University) with producer Allen Estrin which creates popular five-minute educational videos for all ages focusing on conservative values and ideas. It is one of the most-viewed conservative video-based platforms in the world earning over a billion views annually.
Prager has penned over nine books including The Rational Bible, Still the Best Hope, and Happiness Is a Serious Problem, among others. The first in the list is the debut book in the five-volume commentary on the Bible, which is one of the best-selling non-fiction books in the USA.
He often hosts symphony orchestras including two at Walt Disney Concert Hall where he lately conducted the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Dennis Prager, who was born in Brooklyn, NYC and later lived the majority of his life in LA, California, has also traveled across 130 nations for lectures and seminars on religion, global politics, communism, the Middle East, and more.
An alumnus of the Columbia University School of International Affairs, Mr. Prager has offered classes in Russian and Jewish history at Brooklyn College. He is best known for his motto, “I prefer clarity to agreement,” which is often at the center of his talk shows.
