Earth Abides season 1: Full list of cast in the series
Earth Abides is a dystopian survival drama series created by Todd Komarnicki, which made its release via MGM+ on December 1, 2024. The series is based on George R. Stewart's 1949 novel of the same name. Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig leads the series, playing the role of Isherwood Williams, who comes out after months of isolation in the mountains, only to find out that the majority of Earth's population has been wiped out by a deadly plague.
Ish visits the city and finds himself among piles of dead bodies, including his family and loved ones, who were killed by the disease. He soon begins to meet people who have survived the disease but have very little time, due to lack of a community and resources. Earth Abides documents Ish, as he embarks on a journey to re-establish a community with survivors and learns ways to sustain in the new world.

1) Alexander Ludwig as Ish
In Earth Abides, Alexander Ludwig plays the role of its titular character, Isherwood Williams, a geologist who distances himself to a cabin in the woods to pursue his research. Ish is bitten by a rattlesnake while searching for rocks in the mountains, which sends him into a semi-unconscious state. By the time he recovers and decides to pay a visit to the city, the world has already succumbed to a mysterious illness.
Alexander Ludwig is a Canadian actor who received recognition for his role in movies including The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising (2007), Race to Witch Mountains (2009), The Hunger Games (2012), and Lone Survivor (2013). Ludwig is widely recognized for his iconic role as Viking Björn Ironside in Vikings (2014).

Ish stumbles across Emma while on his search to find survivors, and the two eventually fall in love. They have children, and together with other survivors, start to consider building a new civilization.
Jessica Frances Dukes is an American actress known for her role as Special Agent Maya Miller in Netflix's Ozark (2020). She has made other notable appearances in television series including New Amsterdam (2018), Jessica Jones (2019), and Gray Matter (2023).
3) Aaron Tveit as Charlie
Aaron Tveit plays the role of Charlie in Earth Abides, who is one of the survivors. At the time of writing, no detailed information is available on Tveit's role in the series.
Born in Middletown, New York, Tveit is an American actor and singer who received the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2020 for his work in the stage adaptation of John Logan's Moulin Rouge!.
