Fire Country season 2 aired on CBS from February 16, 2024, to May 17, 2024. Created by Max Thieriot, Joan Rater, and Tony Phelan, the series premiered on October 7, 2022. The second season of the firefighting drama only featured 10 episodes due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes as opposed to 22 episodes from the first season.

Fire Country season 2 focused on its protagonist Bode Leone, played by Max Thieriot, getting his life in order. With Bode finally out of prison, the show's next season will focus on his life as a free man for the first time since the series began.

The action-drama series was renewed for a third season in March 2024 and is scheduled to premiere on October 18, 2024. In anticipation of season 3, the following is a recap of everything that happened in Fire Country season 2.

Fire Country season 2 picked up six months after the events of the season 1 finale. Bode is still in prison after taking the fall for his friend, Freddy Mills.

But, Bode is in a dark place and contemplates suicide in season 2's first episode. He only finds a reason to live after being told that he is the father of Genevieve, his ex-girlfriend Cara's daughter. Wanting to see Gen again motivates him to carry on and improve his life. However, he later finds out through a paternity test that he is not Gen's real father.

Season 2 also witnesses Bode's evolution from a prisoner and inmate firefighter with Three Rock camp to a free man. In this season, he saves his fellow inmate Sleeper's life during an earthquake, which convinces the latter to come clean about Bode's innocence in the drug use case.

Additionally, he saves his father Vince and Eddie's lives during the Lazarus fire. These events help Bode get released from prison much earlier than he expected.

Bode tries to adjust to his new life in the real world and finds his purpose by the end of the season. In the final moments of the season finale episode, he tells Uncle Luke that he wants to be a firefighter, as it is the "first healthy addiction" of his life.

Bode urges Gabriela, a firefighter and paramedic with Cal Fire, to move on since he cannot give her the life she deserves. Although heartbroken at first, she falls in love again with her fellow paramedic, Diego Moreno. The two get engaged in the first episode of season 2 and their wedding takes place in the season finale episode.

Although Bode shows up at their wedding to confess his true feelings to Gabriela, he decides against it at the last minute. He attends their wedding ceremony but leaves before the couple exchanges vows.

However, the episode titled I Do does not show the couple exchanging rings or vows on screen, leading fans to speculate that Gabriela does not go through with the wedding. This is among the main questions that will be answered in the upcoming season.

Gabriela's father, Manny Perez, is arrested by the police after the wedding ceremony for assaulting Luke at the firefighter's benefit in a previous episode.

Vince is electrocuted in episode 7 titled Hail Mary, which puts his position as the Battalion Chief of Cal Fire in jeopardy. Furthermore, his declining health forces him to hand over the duties of Station 42 to his wife, Sharon, for the time being.

Jake takes on the responsibility of raising a young Genevieve after her mother Cara's death in the show's season 2. He skips Gabriela's wedding to spend time with Gen. However, their beautiful father-daughter time is interrupted by Rick, who shows up believing he is Gen's real father. Moreover, Jake contemplates his future at Station 42 owing to his responsibilities towards Gen.

Season 3 of Fire Country is set to premiere on CBS on October 18, 2024, at 9 pm ET.
