The Old Man season 2 episode 6: Episode breakdown

In XIII, Dan Chase and Harold Harper, still reeling from the dangers posed by Russian crime lord Suleyman Pavlovic, split up in pursuit of their investigations. Chase, now in London, attempts to determine why Pavlovic wants to kill him and Zoe. He tracks down Nina Kruger, a lawyer linked to Faraz Hamzad, only to find her in a lethal situation, exposed to poison gas in an isolated house.

It is only after a tense confrontation with one of Pavlovic's mercenaries that Chase learns, from Kruger's dying words, that Pavlovic is part of an international cartel that exploits precious minerals. Having identified Chase and Zoe as a source of risk due to their association with the CIA, the cartel looks toward Pavlovic to prove his loyalty by eliminating them.

All these set the story moving, as Chase and Zoe get back an essential flash drive containing a Kruger video showing the size of Pavlovic's network. This raises more mystery about his mysterious past that Harold Harper discovered as he dug deeper into the things his mentor Morgan Bote said towards the end

The trial pushed him to become friendly with an assassin, Julian Carson, who seems to show a rather eerie connection between Harper's ex-wife Marion and the cartel of Pavlovic. This added more layers to the cover-ups and more questions about Marion's relationship.

Future developments on The Old Man season 2

Dan Chase's choice to give himself to Pavlovic's people is the epiphany of the series. Instead of running away, Chase chooses to go straight to his enemies and possibly die in eradicating the danger caused by Pavlovic. But as long as Zoe's fate remains in doubt—whether she comes back to save Chase or leaves and follows Chase's instructions to run off.

However, Harper's quest to discover more about Marion's connection to the cartel makes for an unsettling setting for unknown truths down the road. As the stakes grow, how will that change the dynamics of this adventure between him and Chase as the truth begins to unwind? Are they able to earn each other's trust in the end?
