4 matches WWE can add to Saturday Night's Main Event

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event returned last month after being away for nearly two decades. Fans were hyped up about the return of the quarterly special and the show delivered in spades.

The show had big moments, including Cody Rhodes defeating Kevin Owens, Rhea Ripley confronting Liv Morgan, and Chelsea Green becoming the first-ever Women's United States Champion. Now, the next edition is almost here.

In just two weeks, the Sports Entertainment juggernaut will be hosting the first quarter's edition of Saturday Night's Main Event. Despite the show being so close, no matches have been announced yet. That will change soon, surely, but for now, the card is completely bare.

This article will take a look at a handful of matches that could potentially be added to Saturday Night's Main Event lineup in two weeks. This includes a major Street Fight, a big-time title bout, and the return match for John Cena on his ongoing Farewell Tour.

Below are four possible bouts WWE can add to Saturday Night's Main Event's match card:

#4. Nia Jax vs. Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women's Championship

A shocking turn of events happened on WWE Friday Night SmackDown last week. Tiffany Stratton attacked Nia Jax with her Money in the Bank briefcase and proceeded to cash in and win the WWE Women's Championship.

On SmackDown last night, a Fatal Four Way Match was held with Bianca Belair, Naomi, Nia Jax, and Bayley. The winner, The Role Model, earned a WWE Women's Championship match against Tiffany Stratton next week. Assuming Stratton wins, another number-one contender will be needed.

Nia Jax hasn't gotten a rematch against Tiffany and since they didn't even have a proper match, it only seems fair Jax gets a shot against Stratton. If Tiffany manages to beat Bayley on SmackDown, the two could finally have their one-on-one showdown fans have been waiting for at Saturday Night's Main Event in two weeks.

#3. Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso in a Street Fight

Drew McIntyre has been on a warpath since returning to WWE television late last year. His goal has been quite simple, he aims to take out the OG Bloodline one-by-one as punishment for what they've done to him in the past.

Sami Zayn was first up and Drew soundly defeated The Underdog From The Underground twice. Next, he went one-on-one with Jey Uso on WWE RAW's Netflix premiere, but Jey shockingly upset the former World Heavyweight Champion and picked up the big victory.

However, this won't likely resolve their issues, and so a rematch could be in the works. This time, Drew and Jey could fight in a stipulation match. Uso and McIntyre could battle at Saturday Night's Main Event in a Street Fight. This would allow both men to let out their animosity and for the best man to truly stand tall in the end.

#2. Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight

LA Knight is in a weird spot right now in WWE. He remains one of the most popular figures in the company, but he lost his prized United States Championship and couldn't win the coveted gold back last night.

Meanwhile, Jacob Fatu is also in a weird spot in WWE. Solo Sikoa lost a Tribal Combat fight with Roman Reigns and is no longer The Tribal Chief. Now, The Bloodline he knew could be in shambles.

An angry Samoan Werewolf attacked LA Knight on SmackDown last night after Knight angered him earlier backstage. This cost The Megastar the United States Title. To let the two settle their score, Nick Aldis could book them in a match at Saturday Night's Main Event.

#1. John Cena's return match

John Cena is often referred to as the Greatest Of All Time by WWE and there's good reason for it. He is a 16-time World Champion who carried the Sports Entertainment juggernaut for years, even when the business was otherwise struggling.

Unfortunately, Cena's career is winding down. This year will mark his last as an active in-ring competitor and his Farewell Tour has begun. Cena has already announced he'll be in the Men's Royal Rumble, but he could return to the ring just before that big event on February 1.

The Face That Runs The Place could have the first official match of his Farewell Tour at Saturday Night's Main Event. He could battle an up-and-comer such as Ludwig Kaiser or Bron Breakker. Alternatively, he could face an old foe like CM Punk or The Miz.
