Aleister Black was released by WWE in 2021 and has spent the past few years in All Elite Wrestling under the ring name, 'Malakai Black'. He is the leader of The House of Black faction alongside Julia Hart, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews (fka Buddy Murphy).

However, Fightful Select reported this past Wednesday night that the veteran's time in AEW could be coming to an end soon, and PW Insider followed it up today by revealing that the former NXT Champion could be a free agent in February or March. The veteran has not competed in a match in All Elite Wrestling since Full Gear 2024 last November.

Listed below are four reasons why Aleister Black must return to WWE.

#4. Aleister Black's WWE main roster run was forgettable

Aleister Black was a huge star in NXT, but that did not translate to the main roster. Vince McMahon was still in charge of creative at the time and it just didn't work out for the 39-year-old. Black debuted in a rivalry with Cody Rhodes in All Elite Wrestling but has mainly been competing in trios matches for the past few years.

Black was very successful during his time in the black and silver brand and the company could try to recreate that on the main roster this time. The former NXT Champion had the most success of his career under Triple H's guidance, and he could finally reach his potential by returning to WWE this year.

#3. He has unfinished business with Johnny Gargano

Aleister Black suffered a groin injury in 2018, but WWE used the unfortunate situation to create a masterful storyline. Black was written off television via a mystery attack, and Johnny Gargano was eventually revealed as the culprit.

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa (#DIY) are the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions on SmackDown. The 39-year-old must return to the promotion in the months ahead to reignite his rivalry with Johnny Wrestling.

#2. Black may be the missing piece for a popular RAW faction

The Wyatt Sicks have been involved in a bitter rivalry with The Final Testament for months on RAW. The two factions have grown to despise each other, and The Miz has found himself caught in the middle of the feud.

Aleister Black could be the missing piece for both factions on RAW. The former champion may decide to join either faction upon his return to the Stamford-based promotion as he would be a natural fit for both groups. The addition of Aleister Black to either The Wyatt Sicks or The Final Testament would drastically improve either stable.

#1. He could form a power couple with his wife on RAW

Zelina Vega is a member of the Latino World Order on RAW and was eliminated in the first round of the Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament. Lyra Valkyria and Dakota Kai will be squaring off for the title next Monday night on Netflix to crown the inaugural champion. Vega has never captured a singles title while in the company.

Black only had success during his time in NXT and has never won a singles title on WWE's main roster either. The two stars have been married since 2018 and could form a power couple on RAW if Aleister Black decided to return to the company. Vega and Black may decide the best way for them to have success on the main roster is to work together on the red brand.
