The goal of most WWE stars is to capture a major title and become popular with wrestling fans. There are several stars in the company who have already connected with the WWE Universe but have not had their hands on gold in some time.

The promotion recently introduced two new titles to the promotion. Chelsea Green became the inaugural Women's United States Champion at Saturday Night's Main Event, and there is a tournament underway on WWE RAW to determine the first Women's Intercontinental Champion.

Listed below are five WWE stars who must end their championship drought in 2025.

CM Punk returned to the company at Survivor Series 2023 after being fired by All Elite Wrestling last year. The Second City Saint has had a memorable rivalry with Drew McIntyre so far, but a major injury prevented him from competing against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL.

Punk is scheduled to square off against The Visionary on RAW's debut episode on Netflix on January 6, 2025. Following the match, the 46-year-old could make it his mission to win either the Men's Royal Rumble or the Elimination Chamber match to get a shot at a major title at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

#4. Mia Yim should capture her first singles title next year

Mia Yim (Michin) made it to the finals of the Women's United States Championship tournament but was defeated by Chelsea Green at Saturday Night's Main Event last weekend. The veteran has never captured a title throughout her years with the company.

Yim put up a valiant effort at Saturday Night's Main Event and proved that she was worthy of becoming champion. The 35-year-old could challenge for the title again next year and finally become a champion in WWE.

#3. Chad Gable must become champion in 2025

Chad Gable had an incredible rivalry against former Intercontinental Champion Gunther last year but failed to capture the title. Sami Zayn went on to defeat The Ring General at WWE WrestleMania XL to end his historic reign at 666 days. Bron Breakker is the current Intercontinental Champion on RAW.

Gable turned heel earlier this year and is now the leader of the American Made faction on the red brand. The 38-year-old is a three-time Tag Team Champion on the main roster but still has never won a singles title. The former Olympian has proven to be one of the best in-ring wrestlers on the planet and should be in title contention next year.

#2. Lyra Valkyria needs to become champion next year

Lyra Valkyria defeated Becky Lynch at Halloween Havoc 2023 to become the NXT Champion. She was called up to the main roster earlier this year and made it to the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament. However, the RAW star was defeated by Nia Jax, and The Irresistible Force went on to defeat Bayley at SummerSlam 2024 to become the WWE Women's Champion.

Valkyria defeated Zelina Vega and Ivy Nile on the December 9 edition of RAW to advance in the Women's Intercontinental Championship tournament. The 28-year-old could end her title drought on the main roster by becoming the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Champion in 2025.

#1. The Street Profits deserve to be at the top of the tag team division next year

The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) have been in a major championship drought on WWE SmackDown. The popular duo challenged Motor City Machine Guns for the titles on the November 11 edition of SmackDown, but Tommaso Ciampa interfered in the match. Ciampa and Johnny Gargano (#DIY) defeated Motor City Machine Guns to win the WWE Tag Team Championship on the December 6 episode of the blue brand.

Ford and Dawkins are still a very popular tag team, despite their faction with Bobby Lashley failing to connect with fans. The Street Profits should get another shot at the tag titles soon and deserve to have their third reign as champions on the main roster next year.
