Nia Jax has been on an impressive run since winning the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam 2024. However, it appears she has a target on her back in the form of a 43-year-old female legend who has been absent from WWE television since May of this year.

At the 2024 Backlash PLE, Asuka and her tag team partner, Kairi Sane, defended the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. However, The Kabuki Warriors lost the title at the premium live event in France.

Unfortunately, The Empress of Tomorrow sustained a knee injury and had to undergo surgery. The 43-year-old female star is currently recovering. On X (formerly Twitter), the former SmackDown Women's Champion shared a photo, illustrating the first two steps of the Heimlich maneuver.

Intriguingly, the third step was replaced with a throwback image of Asuka executing a picture-perfect German Suplex on Nia Jax during their NXT Women's Championship match on December 28, 2016. The Japanese veteran seemingly teased going after The Irresistible Force and the latter's WWE Women's Title upon her potential in-ring return.

Nia Jax reveals why she can't wait for Asuka's WWE return

The Australian recently expressed her eagerness to see Asuka return to television. The reigning Queen of the Ring made these comments during her appearance on Die Woche.

Nia Jax acknowledged The Empress of Tomorrow as one of her toughest opponents, praising the Japanese star's strength and explosiveness.

"One of my toughest opponents has been Asuka. She’s incredibly strong, and she’s incredibly explosive. She’s definitely a tough opponent. Love getting in the ring with her; love working with her. I can’t wait till she comes back. I hope we go head-to-head, but Asuka’s one of my toughest," she said.

There has been speculation that Asuka may return on the December 30, 2024, edition of RAW and betray one of her Damage CTRL teammates.

It remains to be seen if the 43-year-old legend will make a massive return ahead of the Road to WrestleMania 41.
