Brock Lesnar honored by legendary WWE bloodline; Hall of Famer reveals personal details about a meeting with The Beast

Brock Lesnar was recently honored by a member of a legendary pro wrestling bloodline. WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart shared a story about the time his father, Stu Hart, met Lesnar before passing away in October 2003.

The Beast has been absent from WWE television since SummerSlam 2023, where he lost to Cody Rhodes. Following the defeat, Lesnar turned face by endorsing The American Nightmare. He was reportedly set to return earlier this year, but Janel Grant's lawsuit against Vince McMahon seemingly threw a spanner in the works.

Now, there is speculation that Lesnar could return to WWE soon. However, Fightful Select reported that the company still didn't have any creative plans for him. The report added that there was no interest in bringing him back to television as long as the federal investigation was happening.

Despite the controversy surrounding his name, Bret Hart had no problems mentioning Lesnar in an interview with The Wrestling Classic. Hart named The Beast as one of the current stars who Stu Hart would have loved to train at the famed Hart Family Dungeon. He also told a story about Stu and Lesnar meeting backstage at a Calgary show in the early 2000s.

"Brock Lesnar. My dad would love to have had a couple [of] hours with him in the basement. I think Brock Lesnar would have been a big fan of my dad too. I think they were fans of each other. I know on the last year or two that my dad was alive, I do remember him making a special trip just down to Saddledome in Calgary just to meet Brock Lesnar," Hart said. [19:22 - 19:48]

The Hart family is one of the most legendary families in wrestling, along with the Anoa'is, the Guerreros, the Von Erichs, and the Rhodes.

In a 2022 interview at the K&S WrestleFest signing, Bret Hart was asked about the wrestlers he would have loved to work with but didn't get a chance to. Hart mentioned a couple of former WWE champions while also taking a shot at Bill Goldberg.

"Kurt Angle would have been one of my primary guys. He always wanted to work with me and I wish I could've worked with him. I would have loved to work with Brock Lesnar just because I always heard he was a good pro in the ring. The opposite of Goldberg," Hart said. [H/T: Fightful]

Hart's in-ring career prematurely ended in 2002 after suffering a stroke. However, he competed again in 2010 after returning to WWE. Lesnar arrived on the main roster in early 2002, but The Hitman was working on the independent circuit at that time.
