Wrestling legend Konnan recently discussed if CM Punk dealt with backstage heat in WWE following the latter's return. The star returned to the company last year after a nine-year hiatus.

The Second City Saint returned to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023. Since then, he has been an integral part of the company, working major matches for the promotion. The Best in The World concluded his blockbuster feud with Drew McIntyre in October and then joined Roman Reigns and the OG Bloodline for the Men's WarGames Match at Survivor Series: WarGames. Punk is now embroiled in a rivalry with Seth Rollins.

In a recent episode of the Keepin' IT 100 OFFICIAL podcast, Konnan mentioned that CM Punk made a lot of enemies when the 46-year-old left the company in 2014. The veteran said The Straight Edge Superstar badmouthed a lot of people during his time away and could have had some bad blood with those personalities. Konnan claimed that the RAW Superstar has made amends with everyone after his return last year and is now on good terms with his colleagues.

"Well, he left, and he made a lot of enemies. So he had to come back and make amends," he said. [From 2:12-2:16]

CM Punk is set for a major title match

WWE's Holiday Tour will be an important event for CM Punk, as he gears up for a world title opportunity. The Best in The World is advertised for a huge title match on December 29 in Chicago.

Punk will face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Steel Cage Match in front of his hometown fans.

WWE could be pivoting to a Gunther-Punk rivalry and possibly testing fan reception to the in-ring encounter between the two stars.

However, The Second City Saint also has some unresolved issues with Seth Rollins. The bitter rivals will lock horns on the January 6 edition of RAW on Netflix.
