Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes teased making history ahead of tonight's episode of SmackDown. The American Nightmare is currently involved in a rivalry with Kevin Owens on the blue brand.

Ahead of the upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown in Utah, Rhodes took to his X (fka Twitter) account and talked about the company making history with the move to the global streaming platform. He promoted the debut episode of RAW on Netflix on January 6, 2025, from the Intuit Dome in California, and stated that fans were not going to want to miss the premiere.

"Time to make history. Youโ€™re not going to want to miss this ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ฅ," he wrote.

Kevin Owens turned heel after Rhodes defeated him at Bash in Berlin earlier this year. The Prizefighter attacked the champion in the parking lot following Bad Blood and took out Randy Orton with a Piledriver on SmackDown earlier this month.

Cody Rhodes called out Kevin Owens last Friday night on the blue brand, but SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis said that the company was handling the matter internally. However, the two former friends are set for a face-to-face interaction tonight on the blue brand.

Former WWE manager comments on the company's plans for Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41

Wrestling legend Dutch Mantell recently predicted Cody Rhodes' potential opponent at WrestleMania 41 next year in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk show, Mantell discussed who Rhodes could potentially face at The Show of Shows in 2025. The veteran stated that the Undisputed WWE Championship would likely face either The Rock or Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41.

"I think Cody does have an appointment at WrestleMania against either Roman Reigns or The Rock which I think would be the best way to go," he said. [From 16:07 onwards]

Cody Rhodes teamed up with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood last month to defeat The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. The Rock appeared following the match and stared at Reigns and Rhodes at the end of the show.

The Final Boss had also confronted the Undisputed WWE Champion on RAW following WrestleMania XL and suggested that he would be coming after his title once he returned.
