A WWE Hall of Fame induction is arguably among the highest honors in the pro wrestling community, and Cody Rhodes wants to see a 60-year-old legend being recognized for his contributions to the company. The American Nightmare recently vouched for referee Charles Robinson to be added to the prestigious list.
Charles Robinson has been part of the global juggernaut since 2001. He is widely considered one of the greatest referees of all time and is very popular among fans. He also works with the company's production and ring crew, helping assemble and disassemble the squared circle and set before and after shows.
Robinson recently posted a picture of Cody Rhodes with what appears to be his family. In the picture, The American Nightmare was holding a "Charles Robinson 4 HOF" sign, making it clear that he wants the legendary referee to be recognized for his contributions to pro wrestling.
Cody Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania 40 as he defeated Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The American Nightmare was overwhelmed with emotions after the win, with multiple notable names coming out to join him in the victory celebration.
Rhodes recently reflected on the win, noting that Charles Robinson handing him the title was the happiest memory he could have.
“Charles Robinson handing me the title, even now I’m just like tensing up think [sic] about it. Charles Robinson handing me the title was the happiest memory I could possibly have. We talked about at the beginning of this interview in terms of willing something new into existence, it doesn’t always happen, it’s not always a happy ending and I wasn’t going to get the opportunity to wrestle him again really if we didn’t get it done. And Charles handing me the title (…) He might be the type that we don’t have to say anything to each other, but that was incredibly special.” [H/T: eWrestlingnews]
Cody Rhodes has been a fighting champion since winning the Undisputed WWE Championship. He is set to defend the title against Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble 2025 in a Ladder match.
