Cody Rhodes will face 2 major WWE Superstars in a Triple Threat at Survivor Series, says veteran

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes currently has multiple rivals. Wrestling veteran Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English) suggested The American Nightmare will eventually square off against two top superstars in a Triple Threat Match.

While Rhodes is set to go head-to-head against the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther for the Crown Jewel Title in Saudi Arabia, he is also involved in a storyline with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton on SmackDown. After Bad Blood, The Prizefighter attacked The American Nightmare in the parking lot. Last Friday on the blue brand, The Viper tried to play peacemaker between his two friends. However, Owens attacked him backstage after they had a conversation.

Speaking on the Rebooked podcast, former WWE star Matthew Rehwoldt claimed a Triple Threat Match between Rhodes, Owens, and Orton was bound to happen:

"I think the common logic has this going toward a Triple Threat. My gut says Triple Threat at Survivor Series. Coud you get it further? But that's the next big event. You could maybe get to the Rumble. Maybe you do a singles match and then... But this is a three-way that's bound to happen. That is a Triple Threat wrestling match that is bound to happen. Where that is though I think is up for a little debate," he said. [From 09:44 to 10:18]

Will Kevin Owens cost Cody Rhodes his match at WWE Crown Jewel?

On the Busted Open podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray discussed the upcoming clash between Cody Rhodes and Gunther at Crown Jewel. He claimed neither of the two champions should lose clean.

Meanwhile, he pointed out that the only way out would be to have Kevin Owens interfere to cost The American Nightmare the match:

"I think at the Saudi show, neither one can get the win clean. My personal opinion is, the way out of it, little chicanery, maybe a ref bump or behind the ref's back, something something, Owens interferes. It's quick, Owens and Cody have the animosity, Gunther gets the win, raises the championship above his head. The next week, RAW or SmackDown, now we're off to the races with Kevin and Cody," he said.

It would be interesting to see where Randy Orton could fit in that proposed scenario after falling victim to Owens' attack on SmackDown last Friday.
