WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has posted a social media update mocking Cody Rhodes ahead of tonight's edition of the blue brand. The two stars shared a segment in the ring last week on Friday Night SmackDown.
During the wrestling promotion's first show of 2025, The American Nightmare entered the squared circle to deliver a promo to address his upcoming match championship match with Kevin Owens. Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against The Prizefighter in a Ladder Match at Royal Rumble.
To everyone's surprise, the 39-year-old was interrupted by The Scottish Warrior. The latter hugged Rhodes and stated he had come out to offer a helping hand, only to be turned down. The former World Champion left the ring while suggesting Cody to watch his back. In the meantime, Kevin Owens snuck from behind to attack Cody Rhodes. Drew McIntyre momentarily stared at the two stars brawling with each other and then walked away.
The Scotsman took to his Instagram account today to mock The American Nightmare with a picture of himself posing in front of a WWE RAW poster featuring Rhodes.
"Always one step ahead," McIntyre wrote.

Drew McIntyre locked horns with long-time rival Jey Uso in a singles match at the RAW Netflix premiere. Despite having the upper hand for the vast majority of the bout, The Scotsman suffered the loss as Jey Uso grabbed the win with a roll-up pin.
Cody Rhodes, on the other hand, made his presence felt during the opening contest of the historic show, which saw Roman Reigns compete with Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat Match. The high-stakes contest saw involvement from both stars' stablemates. However, in a surprising turn of events, Kevin Owens made his way to the squared circle to attack the OTC, only to be taken out by Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes was also a part of another major segment on the show. Before the opening match, The Rock returned to WWE to deliver a promo. Surprisingly, he praised his rumored WrestleMania 41 opponent, The American Nightmare, before giving him a hug.
Cody Rhodes won the last two Men's Royal Rumble Matches. However, this time around, he will be gearing up to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Ladder Match with Kevin Owens at the premium live event.
It remains to be seen if the former AEW star will head into WrestleMania 41 as the champion.
